New York Times Publishes Correction Regarding HIV Prevalence Among Black Men in New York City

The New York Times on Wednesday published a correction concerning the HIV-prevalence rate among black men in New York City (New York Times, 2/8). The article said that approximately one in five black men ages 40 to 49 living in the city is HIV-positive (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 2/6). According to the correction, one in five black men ages 40 to 49 living in Manhattan, not the entire city, is living with the virus. The HIV prevalence rate is slightly below one in 10 among black men ages 40 to 49 citywide (New York Times, 2/8).
