New York Times Profiles New York AIDS Coalition Director Joe Pressley
The New York Times today profiles Joe Pressley, the executive director of the New York AIDS Coalition, an alliance of community groups working for increased funding and fair policies for people living with HIV/AIDS in New York state. Pressley, who has headed the coalition for a year and a half, previously ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the New York City Council and has not "ruled out" another campaign focusing on HIV/AIDS and gay issues. Pressley, who is black, gay and HIV-positive, is also the founder and co-president of Out People of Color Political Action Club, a non-partisan political group. The full article is available online.
