Paper Examines States’ Efforts To Expand Children’s Health Coverage, New Kaiser Family Foundation Web Tools Provides Direct Access To Health Care Data, Facts

• "Covering All Children: Issues and Experience in State Policy Development," National Academy for State Health Policy: The paper describes strategies that states are using to achieve universal health coverage for children, including expanding public programs and creating other opportunities for families with uninsured children, such as through buy-in programs and premium assistance programs. The paper also examines some common policy issues among eight states that have been leaders in pursuing health care for all children (NASHP release, 5/23).
  
  
• "Kaiser Fast Facts," Kaiser Family Foundation: The Kaiser Family Foundation on Thursday launched "Kaiser Fast Facts," a component of kff.org that features two new tools that provide direct access to facts, data and slides about the U.S. health care system and programs. The "Quick Takes" tool presents an inventory of facts-at-a-glance, providing an overview of the U.S. health care system, as well as key facts about a variety of health policy topics, including Medicaid, the uninsured, health care costs, insurance, Medicare, public opinion, HIV/AIDS, minority health, women's health policy, and the entertainment media and health. The "Kaiser Slides" tool allows Web site visitors to freely view, download and print graphics and tables presenting health policy statistics and trends from studies by the Foundation and other organizations. The slides cover a range of topics and explain key aspects of health policy issues. "Kaiser Fast Facts" also provides direct access to the Foundation's comprehensive collection of fact sheets and other online data and analysis created by the Foundation (Kaiser Family Foundation release, 5/22).
