Texas has passed California as the state with the most coronavirus cases, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University. As of 6 p.m. Saturday, California had reported 931,740 total cases since the pandemic began, while Texas hit 931,750 cases. California had held the top spot in the U.S. since mid July, when it passed New York. But as the most populous state in the country, California has a relatively low number of cases per capita.
