In its continuing "AIDS at 20" series, Newsday reports that the prevention of new HIV infections is the "most crucial strategy in the war on AIDS." However, activists and policymakers say that "more vigorous" prevention efforts, such as condom promotion and sex education, are needed. Specifically, Newsday examines the need for an HIV-free global blood supply and clean needles, especially in developing countries.
