Philippines Launches TB Control Program Aimed at Children
The Philippines' Department of Health has launched a TB control program aimed at children under age nine, the Manila Bulletin reports. The Philippine Ambulatory Pediatric Association, Pediatrica and local governments also collaborated to develop the program, which focuses on TB diagnosis and treatment for children. The program, which was launched about one year ago, also has trained health care workers in the DOTS program (Manila Bulletin, 7/17).
