Report Examines Public Perspective of Challenges Facing the U.S. Health Care System
"The American Public on Health Care: The Missing Perspective," Council for Excellence in Government: The report -- developed by the Council for Excellence in Government in partnership with the Accenture Institute for Public Service Value and guidance from the Institute of Medicine -- is the culmination of an eight-month initiative that examined the public perspective on health care challenges facing the U.S. The report was developed using a June 2008 national poll by Gallup, and information gathered from three town hall meetings and local metropolitan area polls between February and June. The report finds that U.S. residents have anxiety about health care costs and believe information can help improve quality and efficiency in the health care system. The report also notes changes to the health care system that U.S. residents said they support, as well as priorities for the presidential candidates (Council for Excellence in Government release, 10/14).
