Number Of E. Coli Deaths In Germany Reaches 35, Authorities Say
"Four more people have died in Germany, health officials said Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths from an E. coli outbreak to 35," CNN reports. As of Sunday, 3,256 had been infected with E. coli and 812 of those have the severe form of the disease, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the news agency notes. Health authorities have said that bean sprouts are the source of the infection, after determining that 17 people became ill with E. coli after eating sprouts at the same restaurant (6/12).
