Modern Healthcare: MACRA Rule Deals Blow To Docs In Medicaid Medical Homes

Most patient-centered medical homes serving Medicaid patients will not count as an alternative pay model under the final MACRA rule. The efforts, which target beneficiaries with chronic conditions or serious mental illness, aim to improve outcomes and lower costs of treatment by coordinating care. However, the models, now operating in 22 states, have shown mixed results. (Dickson, 10/17)

Arkansas Online: Medicaid Program Adds 7,000 To Rolls

More than 7,000 people completed enrollment in Arkansas' expanded Medicaid program in September, bringing the total to more than 324,000, according to figures released Monday. Those covered under the program as of Sept. 30 included 301,009 who had enrolled in the so-called private option, which uses Medicaid funds to buy coverage for low-income Arkansans in private plans offered on the state's health insurance exchange.
