Georgia’s CHIP Launches Online Application Process
Georgia's CHIP program, PeachCare for Kids, has launched a Web-based application that allows parents to enroll their children online. The Web site, http://www.peachcare.org, provides information about the program's benefits as well as eligibility requirements. Before submitting applications to PeachCare agencies, the Web site screens electronic forms for errors or missing information, helping to eliminate approval delays. The Web site also provides a list of primary care physicians organized by area who participate in the CHIP program. In the future, the Web site will include functions to allow doctors' offices and hospitals to screen patients for PeachCare eligibility (Georgia Department of Community Health release, 5/23).
