Washington Business Group on Health Names New President
The Washington Business Group on Health, a not-for-profit health policy and membership organization of 160 large national and multinational employers, on Sept. 4 named Helen Darling as its new president, effective Sept 17. Darling will replace outgoing president Dr. Mary Jane England (WBGH release, 9/4). Prior to accepting the position at WBGH, Darling worked as a senior consultant on group benefits and health costs for the Watson Wyatt consulting firm and assisted in the development of the quality standards used by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Darling has also served as an adviser to the subcommittee on health of the Senate Finance Committee and as a researcher at the Institute of Medicine and HHS (New York Times, 9/5).
