WAMU’s ‘Public Interest’ To Discuss D.C. Mental Health System
WAMU's "Public Interest with Kojo Nnamdi," an NPR syndicated show, at noon ET on July 24 will feature a discussion on the future of Washington, D.C.'s mental health care system, oversight of which has recently been transferred from the federal government to the District. Guests will include Sandy Allen, member of the Washington, D.C., Council and chair of its Committee on Human Services; Nancy Lee Head, program director of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill; Martha Knisley, director of the Washington, D.C., Department of Mental Health; and Phyllis Morgan, president of the Family Advocacy and Support Association.
