Public Opinion and Health Care," New England Journal of Medicine: In the perspective, Lawrence Jacobs, director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis' Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, discusses a number of studies that gauged public opinion of a health care system overhaul since 1991. Jacobs also examines health care proposals from the leading presidential candidates and writes that broad agreement by lawmakers, not necessarily the public, on an approach to reform is necessary (Jacobs, NEJM, 5/1).
