FOREIGN AID: Bill Faces Vote, Includes International AIDSFunding
The House today is expected to vote on a $14.9 billion foreign aid bill that "is one of the last annual spending bills yet to be resolved before Congress adjourns," the Los Angeles Times reports. Included among its FY2001 provisions is $300 million to fight the spread of HIV in Africa and other nations, and $435 million for international debt relief (Anderson, Los Angeles Times, 10/25).
