New Web Site Aims to Help Children Orphaned by HIV/AIDS
The Association Francois-Xavier Bagnoud (AFXB) has launched a new Web site -- http://orphans.fxb.org/db -- that aims to connect individuals and organizations interested in helping children across the world who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Called the AIDS Orphans Assistance Database (AOAD), the site offers "direct contact between individuals and/or organizations assisting orphans and other vulnerable children to find, learn about and contact one another worldwide." The site debuted last week during the conference "Strategies for Expanding the International Response to the AIDS Orphans Crisis," which was organized by Jeffrey Sachs, director of Harvard University's Center for International Development (AFXB release, 4/6).
