HIAA Long Term Care Tax Relief Campaign Airs New Ad
As part of a continuing media campaign to garner support for the Long Term Care and Retirement Security Act of 2001 (S 627, HR 831), the Health Insurance Association of America has released another radio advertisement. Airing first on May 7 in the Washington, D.C., market, the ad is running in conjunction with print ads for two weeks. Titled "The Plan," the ad states: "Americans love to make plans. We're the planning-est people on the planet. We plan for everything, except the potentially devastating costs of long term care. A nursing home could cost $50,000 a year and more. And most Americans aren't prepared." The ad continues: "Congress can help. The bipartisan Long Term Care and Retirement Security Act could lower premiums 20%, making long term care more affordable. So both seniors and their caregivers can enjoy the security and peace of mind that comes with protecting themselves against the high costs of long term care." The ad concludes: "Urge Congress to make a plan and pass tax relief for long term care" (Samuels, NationalJournal.com, 5/15). To listen the ad, click here.
