NPR’s ‘Science Friday’ To Focus on Health Care in Rural Communities
The second hour of NPR's "Talk of the Nation/Science Friday" on April 12 will focus on health care issues facing rural communities in the United States. Guests on the program, which will be broadcast from Iowa City, Iowa, include:
- Kelley Donham, director of Iowa's Center for Agricultural Safety and Health and professor in the University of Iowa's Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health in Oakdale;
- Maureen Reeves Horsley, advanced registered nurse practitioner for the Avera-McKennan Health System in Sioux Falls, South Dakota;
- James Merchant, dean of the College of Public Health at University of Iowa in Iowa City; and
- Kathy Williams, coordinator for the State Office of Rural Health, Bureau of Healthcare Access in the Iowa Department of Public Health in Des Moines.
