Baltimore Sun Examines New Baltimore County Program To Educate Seniors About HIV/AIDS
The Baltimore Sun on Tuesday examined a new program of the Baltimore County Department of Aging, in partnership with the Baltimore County Department of Health AIDS outreach program, that aims to educate people ages 50 and older about HIV/AIDS. The program's implementation follows information from a statewide annual report that found Maryland residents in that age group accounted for almost 16% of new HIV cases and almost 18% of new AIDS cases in the state in 2003, compared with about 6% and 9%, respectively, in 1994. The programs will be offered at the county's 19 senior centers and aim to provide HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention education (Goldberg, Baltimore Sun, 3/1). The complete article is available online.
