About 75% of Chinese College Students Report Knowing How To Prevent HIV Transmission, Survey Says

About 75% of college students in China know how HIV is spread, as well as how to prevent transmission of the virus, according to a survey released recently by the Ministry of Health, Xinhuanet reports. The survey was conducted by an unnamed research institute among 1,919 participants in 24 colleges in 19 cities, according to the health ministry's information office. According to the survey, public media -- including television programs, reports, films and Web sites -- are the most effective method of promoting HIV/AIDS awareness, while campus outlets have little effect.
