Report Released on Rectal Microbicide Research, Funding
- "Rectal Microbicides: Investments and Advocacy," International Rectal Microbicide Working Group: The report examines the state of rectal microbicide research and development, as well as funding for such research. It also outlines a series of recommendations for advocates and researchers. The report finds that about $34 million was spent between 2000 and 2006 on rectal microbicide research, and 97.4% of the funds came from U.S. public sector entities such as NIH and CDC (AIDS Foundation Chicago release, 4/24).
