PBS ‘NewsHour’ Correspondent Susan Dentzer Named as New Health Affairs Editor-in-Chief
The journal Health Affairs has named Susan Dentzer, head of the health unit and an on-air correspondent at PBS' "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer," as editor-in-chief, effective May 1, CQ HealthBeat reports.
Dentzer, who previously served as chief economics correspondent at U.S. News & World Report and as senior business writer at Newsweek, will continue to serve as an on-air correspondent at "NewsHour." She will replace Jamie Robinson, who will return to his position as professor of health economics at the University of California-Berkeley School of Public Health.
John Iglehart, founding editor of Health Affairs, said that Dentzer "will be a perfect fit" for the journal. Dentzer "has consistently made complex issues understandable to a broad audience," he said, adding, "This parallels the journal's goal of presenting the highest-quality peer-reviewed health policy research in an accessible manner, so that it becomes part of the policy-making process" (CQ HealthBeat, 3/28).
