‘NewsHour’ Investigates Rising Health Care Costs
PBS' "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" on July 22 featured a report on efforts to control the rising cost of heath care, following the case of a California state employee who has Type II diabetes. The segment also includes an interview with William Crist, president the California Employees Retirement System, or CalPERS; Helen Darling, head of the Washington Business Group on Health; and George Halvorson, chair and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, which covers approximately 33% of Californians enrolled in CalPERS (Dentzer, "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer," 7/22).
