Providers and insurers are among healthcare leaders lobbying Congress and the Trump administration to continue to push Medicare into value-based payment models. A number of healthcare organizations, including the Healthcare Leadership Council, a coalition of CEOs from various sectors of the industry, sent letters to Republican lawmakers hailing the benefits of payment models that focus on quality and value. Modern Healthcare: AMA, AHA Form Coalition To Reform Prior Authorization Requirements
The American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and 14 other healthcare organizations have joined forces to make it easier to adhere to prior authorization requirements imposed on providers. The coalition, announced Wednesday, will lobby health plans to streamline prior authorization for medical tests, procedures, devices and drugs.
