For centuries, the central challenge in health care was ignorance. Now, health care is being flooded with information. But commerce and medicine are still trying to figure out what do with all that data.

Eric Whitney, Montana Public Radio

Eric Whitney has been a public radio reporter since 1993, mostly in Colorado, and is currently news director at Montana Public Radio. He became interested in health reporting in the late '90s, and was a media fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the summer of 2000. He served as Colorado Public Radio's health reporter for five years and spent a year filing freelance health stories from Cape Town, South Africa. His work has been supported by the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the California Health Care Foundation, among others. He frequently files health stories for NPR. When not reporting, Eric enjoys nordic skiing and being outside in the mountains.
