Date Set For Oral Arguments In 8th Circuit Court Of Appeals
Politico Pro: Missouri Lawsuit To Get Appeals Hearing
Missouri's health reform lawsuit is heading for oral arguments in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. The 8th Circuit on Tuesday said oral arguments in the lawsuit, which challenges the individual mandate and the Medicaid expansion, will take place in St. Paul, Minn., during the week of Oct. 17. The suit was brought by Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and is one of the most prominent in the second round of health reform lawsuits working its way up to the Supreme Court. Cases in the 4th, 6th and 11th circuit courts — the first round of lawsuits — are vying to be the first to be argued in Washington. The second round includes a challenge the D.C. Circuit of Appeals plans to hear on Sept. 23 (Haberkorn, 8/23).
