Bayer Joins Fight Against AIDS
Bayer A.G., Germany's
largest pharmaceutical manufacturer, announced yesterday plans to
concentrate research in 13 medical fields, including HIV/AIDS, in
an effort to "increase sales and profits," Bloomberg
News/New York Times reports. The company, best known for
its aspirin, did not disclose how much it will invest in AIDS
research (Bloomberg News/New York Times, 11/22).
