Wisconsin Governor Signs Legislation Expanding Drug Reimbursement Eligibility Levels for HIV-Positive Residents
Wisconsin Gov. Scott McCallum (R) on Wednesday signed into law a bill (AB 733) that will increase the number of HIV-positive individuals who are eligible for the state's drug reimbursement grants, the AP/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The measure increases the income level for eligibility from $17,720 per year to $26,580 per year if federal money or manufacturer rebates are available. Earlier in the year the state's Department of Health and Family Services received a supplemental federal grant "specifically" for the purpose of expanding this program's eligibility (AP/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 4/17).
