Documentary of Carter/Gates Trip to Africa to be Featured Tonight on PBS’ ‘Now With Bill Moyers’
PBS' "Now With Bill Moyers" tonight will feature a video documentary of the trip to Africa taken in March by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and Bill Gates, Sr., head of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (PBS release, 5/2). Carter and Gates visited South Africa, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Namibia, Angola and Kenya on behalf of the foundation to promote condom use, distribute grant funds and urge governments to take more action on HIV/AIDS (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 4/15). Video journalist Jamila Paksima accompanied Gates and Carter on their trip, and her footage will be featured on tonight's program. Check local listings for times and stations (PBS release, 5/2).
