Gilead Sciences Web Site on HAART Education; YouthNet Releases InfoNet No. 20

ChangeofHAART.com, Gilead Sciences: The Web site, launched on Tuesday by Gilead Sciences, is designed to provide educational information about advances in highly active antiretroviral therapy for people living with HIV/AIDS. The site includes resources to help patients and health care providers understand the latest changes and progresses in HAART, including a brief history of the drugs, streaming video, an interactive quiz, advice on how to manage treatment in order to reduce side effects related to HARRT, and referrals to local AIDS service organizations and other resources. The launch of the site coincides with the 10-year anniversary of FDA's approval of the first protease inhibitor and the resulting availability of HAART in the U.S. (Gilead release, 12/6).
- "Youth InfoNet No. 20," YouthNet, Family Health International: "Youth InfoNet No. 20" includes 15 program resources centered on youth reproductive health issues and HIV/AIDS prevention methods. The site also features summaries of four peer-reviewed research articles from Nepal, Brazil and Zimbabwe about youth reproductive health and HIV/AIDS (FHI release, 12/6).
