Obama Reschedules Meeting With State Insurance Regulators
Just a day after announcing that President Barack Obama would meet with state insurance regulators in Seattle next week, the White House said Friday that the meeting would have to come later.
The Hill: "President Obama will meet with state insurance regulators at the White House next month, the administration said Friday. Obama had been scheduled to address the annual meeting of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in Seattle on Tuesday but had to cancel because of a scheduling conflict, the White House said" (Pecquet, 8/13).
The Seattle Times: Obama is still traveling to Seattle on Tuesday where he "will 'talk about strengthening the economy and creating jobs for the families and businesses of Washington State,' the White House said." He will also "headline campaign fundraisers for Democratic U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, who faces a difficult fight to be reelected to a fourth term" (Brunner, 8/13).
